Giving Agave Nectar Some Love

Agave Nectar

I just love using agave as a sweetener.  I usually put it in hot cereals like oatmeal, but I use it in tea, too, to sweeten it up.  It’s great.

I found my ‘sometimes’ sugar substitute.  I can’t count sugar out completely, you know, try as I might.

So, if you have nothing else to do today, buy yourself some agave and give it a try if you haven’t already.

Take-Away Life Lesson:  You can use agave practically anywhere you would have used sugar for lots of things.

  1. it’s been popular here in France for a while, but these past years, it’s been replaced by stevia, supposed to be THE healthiest one:

    1. I’ve never tried Stevia before but I’ve seen it around. I plan on trying it soon. Have a great weekend in France! 🙂

  2. Hmmm… I’ve seen this but I have never tried it.
I wonder if it mixes well with Chinese herbs.
I often cook with Chinese herbs but I am having trouble finding healthy substitute for cane sugar. I use honey sometimes but certain herbs do no go well with honey.

    1. Hmm. I don’t know what it’s like with herbs. I know it’s great in my oatmeal and tea. Give it a whirl next time you see it.

    1. Yeah. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it. It’s not just in health food stores anymore. You can find it in pretty much any store nowadays. It’s cheaper for me to get it at Costco now. It’s supposed to be better than straight white sugar. And it sweetens my oatmeal and tea perfectly. 😉
