Chocolate Iced Glazed, Chocolate Iced Cake, Chocolate Iced with Kreme Filling, Chocolate Iced Custard Filled, Apple Fritters, and Original Glazed
Have you ever seen a herd of 2,000 or so donuts pass before your very eyes before? Not in a dream—but in real life?! Well, I’m here to tell you—it’s a real vision.
As I stood and watched the production of these Krispy Kreme donuts, my eyes couldn’t help but get bigger and bigger. I suddenly had visions of a massive swimming pool being filled to the rim with donuts specifically so I could dive right into the dead center of it. I wouldn’t even have minded the stickiness of it all if I could surround myself with love like that.
At the front counter, I studied the many different types of donut choices I had to choose from. Do you have any idea how many different kinds of donuts they were selling? I mean, talk about the important decisions one needs to make in life! But you would be right in asking, “How does one actually choose from amongst the masses?”
When faced with a situation such as this, my rule of thumb needs to come into play—just get one of each at minimum. Otherwise, how could you ever decide anything given the vast array of choices? The high stress levels and headaches that would ensue are not worth it.
And if you ever find yourself with Krispy Kreme coupons such as: buy one dozen donuts get one dozen free or, buy anything get one donut free or, get $5.00 off a dozen donuts—I’m here to tell you they won’t take more than one coupon in an order. I know because I tried!
So I asked her to ring two separate orders and she said she couldn’t because I’m the same person and there are cameras. I asked how soon I could come back to use another one—do I have to wait another day, another hour, when exactly?
I proceeded to tell her, I’ll leave from inside the store and get into my car and meet you at the drive-thru window for this next order. (See ya in 60 seconds!) When I did that, she took another order from me with a coupon. Now keep in mind, I’m the ONLY customer at Krispy Kreme at the time. No one else was inside the store and no one else was in line at the drive-thru window.
Of course I had a third coupon I wanted to use and she wouldn’t ring a separate order while I was at the drive-thru window even though there was no one else in line. So to avoid parking the car and walking back into the store yet again for another order, I told her I would drive around the building and back to her window. (See ya in 30 seconds!)
I made a complete circle around the Krispy Kreme building and drove back up to the drive-thru window and placed the third order which she promptly took along with my third coupon! (Talk about the most idiotic things to put a customer through!) So I was basically in a dream world that morning surrounded by donuts—but my dreams were momentarily shattered by the purchasing experience.
So, if you have nothing else to do today, go to a donut factory and live out your life’s dreams.
Take-Away Life Lesson: To use more than one coupon, just walk away from the order window after you purchase your donuts and turn around and come right back into the store or drive-thru as if it was your first time there that day—even though it’s really your second or third time within 5 minutes. Apparently, that makes all the difference in being able to place more than one order with more than one coupon.
