Made with mascarpone cheese, eggs, lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, flour, nutmeg, and salt; cooked in olive oil, salt, and fresh chopped basil; topped with Parmesan cheese.
The only thing I can say about this dish is NO HOW, NO WAY! I was thoroughly disappointed.
Even though I followed the directions to the letter, this tasted AWFUL! I ate half of one of these and threw the rest in the trash.
You’re more than welcome to try making this yourself—maybe you’ll actually like it. But I, personally, threw the recipe away never to be made again.
Recipe for—Mascarpone & Lemon Gnocchi
So, if you have nothing else to do today, make a GREAT effort NOT to make this recipe. Just save yourself already. Find something else to make, for Pete’s sake.
Take-Away Life Lesson: It’s always fun experimenting with different recipes, but some things are just not made to have a permanent home in your recipe book.
can’t win them all. appreciate the report just the same 🙂 was it the taste or texture (or both?) that turned you off?
It was both, but mainly the taste. My friend was there and didn’t like them either. Maybe it was just a personal preference of ours. Who knows? But I doubt I’ll ever make them again—unless I’m bored and want to give them another shot in a couple years.
This looks divine!
Thanks!
I have recently tried gnocchi and I like them lots 🙂
Maybe if I’m daring I’ll try this recipe one more time in the future just to ‘double-check’ that I really didn’t like it or had a bad day.
It does SOUND good, but I’ve had disappointments like this. Sometimes a slathering of cheese makes it edible, but sometimes . . . Well, not!
Maybe it was just my particular taste buds at the time. Oh, well.
maybe the nutmeg was the problem. I think I’d leave that out! Sorry it didn’t work out…off to the diner now huh?!? free butter cake (hopefully no bugs involved) lol
You know I had to go somewhere. But I always check for bugs now. 😉
