Red Beans & Rice

Red Beans & Rice

Made with sliced smoked turkey sausage, chicken stock, red beans, canola oil, chopped onion, celery, green bell pepper, minced garlic cloves, dried thyme, dry rub (made of sugar, paprika, onion powder, salt & pepper), bay leaves, and salt & pepper; served over long grain brown rice.

I’ve never loved beans and rice so much in my life!!!  This was SO good.  I think the sausage is what really set it off.

  1. I have a version of this from the Food Network too. But I don’t like beans that much (learning to eat them) so I make it with garbanzo beans and kidney beans. It also has cummin in it. And no celery – don’t like that either. Whoa! The recipe I use doesn’t need hours of cooking. I am having it for dinner right now! If you want a quick recipe, check it out on my blog. 😉

  2. This looks delish! Like xbox said, in NOLA, most restaurants serve red beans and rice on Mondays as plate lunches. Def makes Mondays a little happier. Can’t wait to try it!

  3. I am truly enjoying your style of cooking!! You prepare foods much in the way of my family. I make red bean and rice for my mother at least once a week!!
