I just love my new tea cup! I discovered a lovely little tea store the other day. I have to say, I’m not much of a tea drinker but I’m trying to be. I know it’s supposed to be good for you.
The organic teas this store sells are loose leaf and come straight from the hills of China. The owner personally goes to China two months out of the year to oversee production. I love stores like this.
Anyway—there were various tea cups, tea-on-the-go mugs, teapots, and accessories as well as all the various types of teas all about the store. I spotted this particular tea cup and fell in love. There were 16 different designs to choose from and I chose the plain white one.
Look at how neat it is! The tea leaves go inside the cup insert, you pour hot water over the leaves, put the lid on, and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then you remove the lid and turn it upside down, then remove the insert and set it on the lid while you drink your tea straight from the cup.
Since the same leaves can be used for 2-3 cups of tea, you can just re-insert the insert back into the cup when you’re done drinking the first cup and repeat. How exciting!
So, if you have nothing else to do today, see if you can find and visit a local store that sells nothing but teas and tea-related objects.
Take-Away Life Lesson: Who knew a tea store could be a whirl of fun.

I Finally Had My Tea
I drink tons of tea! Hopefully I’ll be posting about some of them.
Yes, be sure to post about them.
Nice! One of my favorite things in the world is brewing fresh loose tea daily. The tea world is a beautiful one. Enjoy every minute of your experience with it. 😉
I will. Thanks, Michelle!
Enjoy! We used to have a small local tea shop that unfortunately went out of business. I loved it so much. It carried chocolates and other odds and ends. I have one one those cups from Teavana, but don’t enjoy the Teavana store nearly as much as that local shop.
I love little tea shops.
You can’t beat, a nice spot of tea. 😉
I starting to realize that.
Having one now. Want a sip? 😉
I’m right there with you, Kev! Thanks for the offer. 🙂
Hi, that mug looks sweeeeet! I hope I can find one like that here because I drink tea like it is going to be banned tomorrow and I need to get as much of it in to me as possible right now! lol
I just love it. That’s great you drink lots of tea.
i love tea! not a coffee drinker. herbal tea is great for what ails you, too. sounds like you found the perfect store for that. my tea of choice is chai tea with vanilla shots. YUM! YUM!
I’ve always wanted to try a chai tea. I heard it was delish.
I love the idea of tea, but don’t drink it very often. It is really good on a blustery day, but we have very few of those. I have about a hundred sealed up bags for guests to choose from. We like the British mysteries and comedies, and they are all about “tea”. It seems to be the anecdote for anything that might go wrong. ;->
Virtual hugs,
Judie
I just love how the British love their teas. And, WOW, that’s a lot of tea, Judilyn!
Obviously it isn’t the anecdote, but the antidote! What was I thinking? !!!
🙂
A friend gave me a lovely plastic mug (effectively) with a strainer for the bottom. I set the tea leaves and hot tea inside, let it sit for a while, and then place the mug on top of my cup or glass and let the tea drain through the base. (There’s a spring contraption that lets a hole open up so.) It’s made me aware how hard it is to find loose-leaf tea in my area, actually, although since obviously there’s no Tea Police keeping me from putting bags in instead that doesn’t do any harm.
How cool. That sounds like a neat little mug. And the tea bags really are more convenient and easy to deal with.
It’s so cute! I gotta admit, I’m so lazy… I can’t usually be bothered to do anything except a teabag. I’ve got a few of those neat cups like yours, and my faaaavorite loose tea flavor is blackcurrant. Yum! What kind of tea did you buy at the store? Any favorites?
I got green tea for now. I don’t think I’ve ever had any other types of teas before. I’ve always heard green tea was better for you, too. I may have to try some different flavors.
I am a tea drinker. So it is good choice from a tea addict’s view 🙂
I love when things can make your life simpler.
Convenient 🙂
It really is.
That’s hot. Where did you get it??
Just a small little tea shop I found here in town.
I have never seen such a thing.
I know. Me either. I thought it was so neat when I found it. I just had to get it.
What a cute tea cup! I love drinking tea–I drink it almost every night!
I’m hoping to covert into an every day drinker myself.
What a practical cup! Looks so easy to clean too. [Btw, love the “pop-up” captions when your photos are scrolled over…very cool!]
I love that the cup is practical and it’ll be a breeze to clean. (And thanks about the captions. 🙂 )
fun! love it 🙂 New kitchen toys are always a treat.
They really are. 🙂
Oh my goodness I need one of those. Super cute!!!
Thanks. I love it.
I don’t drink tea but that is darling.
Thanks. I don’t really either, but I’m going to give it a try and see how it goes.
Its a very nifty little cup! Tea and its variations is lots of fun 🙂
I can’t wait to try it. 🙂
loveit!
Thanks!
Tea and coffee always taste better in a beautiful cup. 🙂 But I have this one cup that is just an old cup that I always use instead of my nice ones that are kept in a beautiful china cabinet behind glass doors.
Some cups are to look at and some are to drink from. lol
Oh, you should enjoy your fine tea cups. You deserve to use the finer things in life! You only live once.
I will have a tea party and you are invited. 🙂
There!
Reblogged this on Vegetarian Living for all! and commented:
oh my goodness…. I must have this tea cup.. LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Glad I found it.
Me too, lol.
I was not a tea drinker, but I am now. I can’t go on a day without drinking tea. I love to collect tea set or cute little cups but I think my pantry will not agree with my idea. Your cup looks so simple and cute! <3
Thank you. I hope to convert to a tea drinker as well.
